Yellowstone road closed after wash
Yellowstone National Park, Wyo. – A road in Yellowstone National Park is Lamar Valley was closed after about 30 meters were washed in part by high water. The park officials say the rushing waters at the confluence of the Lamar River and Soda Butte Creek damaged part of the lane east of the park’s entrance road into the north-east to the west of Soda Butte. Visitors can still travel in the north-east entrance of the park from Red Lodge, Mont. OR Cody, Wyo., over the Beartooth Highway or highway Chief Joseph Scenic. The National Park Service closed the road late Friday evening. A spokesman said it was unclear how long it will take to reopen the road.
